People, we are nothing special!

I often find that people have a completely cold relationship with their horses, expecting them to behave like machines. Their interaction with horses sounds usually like:

“There’s no way he’s getting away with this!”
“Don’t start there!”
“You’ll do what I tell you!”

An arogant tone and then, a solid dose of violence often follows.
These people don’t praise, encourage, or motivate. They simply demand, command, and punish.

Not only do horses not respond to such treatment—no living being does—but above all, it reveals ignorance.
That’s no excuse. Perhaps these people are simply replicating the threat-based systems they grew up with and can’t escape. I don’t know—I’m not a psychologist.

But what I do know is that motivation, praise, and—above all—understanding the other, whether it’s a child, a horse, or even a bee, is the only right way to approach any living being.

And I wholeheartedly agree with the remarkable biologist, Jane Goodall: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1TJng2MXkE/
